The EE-SX671A is a slot-type, L-shaped photomicrosensor featuring a grooved design and non-modulated through-beam sensing.
It offers a 5 mm slot width sensing distance and supports both Dark-ON and Light-ON modes, which are selectable.
The standard sensing object is an opaque material of at least 2 × 0.8 mm, with a differential distance of 0.025 mm max.
It uses an infrared LED (940 nm) as the light source and includes a red indicator that lights up when there is no incident light.
The sensor operates with a power supply of 5 to 24 VDC (±10%), with a maximum ripple of 10% and 12 mA current consumption (when the L terminal is open).

Its control output is an NPN open collector, capable of handling 5 to 24 VDC load voltage and a maximum load current of 100 mA, with residual voltage of 0.8 V max at 100 mA and 0.4 V max at 40 mA. The sensor includes output short-circuit protection and offers a response frequency of at least 1 kHz (average 3 kHz). It can operate under ambient light conditions of up to 1000 lx from fluorescent lighting.

The operating temperature range is -25 to 55°C, and the storage temperature range is -30 to 80°C, both without freezing or condensation. It withstands ambient humidity from 5% to 85% during operation and 5% to 95% during storage, again with no condensation. The sensor is designed to resist vibration (20–2000 Hz, 100 m/s² peak acceleration, 1.5 mm double amplitude, 2 hours each on X, Y, Z axes) and shock (500 m/s², three times on each axis). It has a protection rating of IP50, and features a connector-type connection method, with direct soldering also possible. The total package weight is approximately 3 g, and the materials used include polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) for the case and polycarbonate (PC) for the emitter/receiver cover.
